Affordable Textbook Initiatives: How to Get Started
Check with Scott Lloyd, the Library Director, to see if any of the books you are currently using are available as an ebook with an unlimited user license.
Contact Bridget Dumont, Access Services Librarian, to place print copies of your textbook on reserve for your course. More information is available on the page Place items on Reserve.
If you are open to selecting a new textbook, try
searching for a book in the Mount Library’s licensed ebook collections. A list of these collections can be found on this guide's Ebooks section.
searching for ebooks in the MSJ Library’s FOCUS Catalog. (To limit your results to ebooks, first perform a keyword search, then click on “Modify Search,” and then choose “Ebooks” from the “Material Type” pull-down menu.)
searching for an open-access textbook. Links to open-access textbook collections and OER search tools can be found on this guide's Open Educational Resources page.
If you need assistance with any of these initiatives, please contact Scott Lloyd, Bridget DuMont, or Susan Falgner.
