Services for Online Learners

The MSJ Library is committed to offering library services for students who are in online degree programs. Please note: you will need the LIB ID printed on the front of your Mount ID card to access online library resources off-campus. If you have not been issued an ID card, you can look up your LIB ID number on myMount.

  • Off-campus access to library resources:
  • Off-campus access to library services:
    • Locate books, films, music, and other information resources in the FOCUS MSJ Library catalog
    • Borrow items through OhioLINK and SearchOhio
    • Request journal articles, books, and media through Interlibrary Loan (ILL)
      • Online learners are eligible for ILL services. To request materials, complete the ILL request form
      • Journal articles, book chapters, and any other copy requests will be sent to your MSJ email address in PDF form
        • Per CONTU guidelines, only 5 requests per journal title for articles published within the last five years can be obtained by a library through ILL per year
      • Books and media requested through the ILL service will be sent to the student’s home mailing address, and must be returned by the due date indicated on the book band
        • Please contact interlibraryloan@msj.edu if you wish to renew your ILL item. Renewal requests must be made BEFORE the due date, and are determined by the lending library. If a renewal request is denied, the item must be returned.
        • A fine of $1.00/day is charged to the patron’s library account for each item returned late.
    • Get research help via chat, email (library@msj.edu), phone (513-244-4216), or set up an online research appointment via Zoom.
      • The Tutorials page provides video overviews of basic searching in EBSCO databases, as well as detailed video user guides to specific EBSCO databases, the OhioLINK Electronic Journal Center, and more.
      • Our librarian-created Subject Guides aid students in discovering information resources, including the best online databases available for subject-specific research.
  • Mount students are entitled to the following resources and services when they visit another OhioLINK library:
    • Check out books and other items, as well as access reference collections.
      • To check out an item directly from another OhioLINK library as a visiting patron, you must be able to supply your LIB ID number. This is typically printed on the front of the MSJ AllCard issued to new students, but you may not have received a physical student ID card as an online student. If this is the case, you can look up your LIB ID number on myMount (note: you must be logged in to myMount first to access this page).
